FOUNDER OF GREENER DENTISTRY GLOBAL ACCEPTED FOR FELLOWSHIP
Dr. Davinder Raju has been accepted for a Fellowship at the International College of Dentists (ICD) in recognition of his work promoting sustainability in dentistry. He is due to be inducted as a Fellow at the annual meeting (https://icd2024.com) of the Europe section of ICD in Limassol, Cyprus, in June.
He launched the Greener Dentistry Global sustainability toolkit and accreditation programme in 2023. Available via a web-based app, the programme is based around Dr Raju’s work to establish the UK’s first fully environmentally friendly practice, the Dove Holistic Dental Centre.
The ICD was established in 1920 and has 12,000 members who have been awarded the prestigious title of FICD (Fellow, International College of Dentists); fellowship is by invitation only.
Fellows of the ICD must pass a rigorous peer-review process, leading to ‘recognition of the individual’s outstanding professional achievement, meritorious service and dedication to the continued progress of dentistry for the benefit of humankind.’
Commenting on the announcement, he said: “To be nominated as a Fellow of the ICD is undoubtedly a career highlight. I hope it will help highlight the importance of sustainability in dentistry around the world.”
