Frequently Asked Questions
Why is evidence supporting my practice's sustainability initiatives accessible for public viewing?
As part of our sustainability certification and accreditation program, members must upload evidence to support their claims of completing sustainability initiatives. This evidence is made publicly accessible to ensure transparency and prevent greenwashing. By making the evidence available for public viewing, we aim to build trust and confidence in the certification mark and the dental profession's commitment to sustainability. Transparency is key in winning over eco-conscious patients, and we want the dental profession to be seen in the best light in promoting sustainability. In addition, by being open and honest about our sustainability efforts, we can encourage others to join us on this journey towards a more sustainable future.
There are so many sustainability initiatives to consider, and it seems overwhelming. How can I make a difference without getting discouraged?
Sustainability can be like a guiding North Star for your practice. It's not about completing everything at once but about taking small steps and moving in the right direction. One way to get started is by appointing a Sustainability Champion within your practice who can introduce sustainability ideas at practice meetings and help guide the implementation of initiatives. Taking it one step at a time allows you to work through initiatives gradually and feel more confident in your progress. Remember, sustainability is a journey, not a race.
